Cabinet construction, hardware standards,
and other important points about our work.
While every project we do is custom designed and built to suit each client and their home we have some
consistent construction standards as well as materials, hardware and finishes that we choose for their
performance, beauty and durability:

-We build all cabinet boxes with 3/4" maple plywood.

-Our construction uses both mechanical fasteners(screws and/or nails) and glue for more solid, long
lasting construction.

-When not doing clear coated wood we use shop blended dyes or stains. Our intent is not only to match
colors but to bring out the beauty and character of the wood.

-We use top quality finish coats: Vinyl sealers with high moisture resistance and catalyzed lacquers.
Both with great wear and scratch resistance as well as UV protection.

-Our main hardware choice is Blum, top of the line, soft close hinges and under mount drawer slides.

-We make all cabinets at our shop. We can acquire factory built cabinets and install them but if we sell
a cabinet as custom it was made by us, right here in Ohio.

-We take extra care when installing our work. Large cabinet installations are by nature a disruptive
element in the home. We attempt to minimize the impact as much as possible. We also take care to
ensure we do not cause damage to an existing structure.

-We invest a lot of our time and thought into every project we undertake. We can almost guarantee that
the only one who will care more about your home than we do, is you.

While this is our baseline we are flexible and will work to fit a client's needs and budgets, whether this
is above or below what we normally do. Our projects have ranged from using species ranging from alder
and quarter sawn oak to 150 year old wormy chestnut salvaged from barns to tropical hardwoods.
